REDDOC (Reading Doctors On Call)

WHEN SHOULD I USE REDDOC?

REDDOC provides medical advice and management for the patients of all its member practices outside normal surgery working hours and operates at the following times:

Monday to Friday 7.00pm each evening - 7.00am next morning
Weekends Saturday 12 noon through Sunday to 7.00am Monday
Bank Holidays 7.00am until the following day at 7.00am
(Unless patients are informed of special arrangements
by the practice for unusual or extra holiday periods.)

REDDOC has been set up to provide patients with the medical care necessary to treat conditions that require urgent help or treatment that cannot wait until a patient's own doctor's surgery is open. REDDOC should not be used to provide treatment for routine, recurrent or non-urgent medical requirements. REDDOC can accept calls from patients who belong to any of its member practices and also from patients who are temporary residents or who require immediately necessary treatment whilst they are travelling through the area. Patients who are registered with local GP practices that are not members of REDDOC cannot be accepted for treatment.

THE PRIMARY CARE CENTRE OPENING TIMES ?

Weekdays 7.00pm to midnight
Saturday 12 noon to midnight
Sundays and Bank Holidays (unless otherwise notified): 9.00am to midnight

Patients are requested not to attend the Primary Care Centre before telephoning REDDOC.
